LENEC is looking for two (2) talented individuals to join our national team for Blog Volunteering (BV). The Blog Volunteers shall work for at least three (3) days a week for the Organization program that has based on agricultural sector for phase I that shall start in Jan, 2015.
The main roles of the Blog Volunteers are; [I] Develop 250 words articles explains challenges, opportunities and country initiatives in addressing youth agri-concerns and current organization project on youth involvement into agribusiness sector in Tanzania [II] Diffuse blog information to other platforms and social networks consisting tweeter, facebook, linkedIn and alike. There are different forms of social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, Instagram, Flickr, Storify, Slideshare, among several others. These tools have emerged in recent years as a powerful and widespread communication platform and are being used in a wide range of areas such as agricultural and rural development, environmental protection, education, public health, or disaster communication and management.
Youth in Training Recognizing the prevalence of social media and its potential for socio-economic development, and in response to the increasing demand from the region for capacity building resource in this area, the United Nations Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology Development (UN-APCICT/ESCAP) organized a “Regional Workshop on Social Media for Development” on 30 June – 2 July 2014 in Incheon, Republic of Korea, with the following key objectives: • Facilitate regional dialogue among various stakeholders from the government, development organizations, civil society, academia and private sector on the potential and applications of social networks for development; • Promote an exchange of perspectives, experiences, and lessons learned; • Build capacities of government officials and ICT4D stakeholders on effective deployment of social media in development; • Promote APCICT’s latest Academy Module on Social Media for Development as a learning resource for government officials and policymakers of countries in Asia and the Pacific. Horticultural Farming for Improved Production Economy desires to address the poverty alleviation through practicing effective irrigated farming for improved production economy in rural Morogoro-Tanzania. The project intends to involve youth and other peasant communities on building their capacities on improved irrigation scheme with three (3) significant phases, including; Awareness on Irrigated- Farming potentiality, Demonstrating Irrigated Farming strategies- Farm School Approach & Advocacy and Fund solicit to trained individuals that is enhanced through the use of plenty arable land and water resource at village. The Organization shall (1) form youth and other peasant communities group to provide awareness/training pertaining to irrigation farming (2) Design acre plots for Irrigation Demo Farm that shall utilize the improved irrigation facilities. This goal will be achieved through the development of staff dynamic team in partnership with Government Organs, Recognized Institutions and Private Sectors. The project is looking for five (5) talented individuals to join our national team for Online Volunteering (OV). The volunteers shall work for at least 6 hours a week for the Organization program that has based on Agricultural Sector which shall start in October, 2014. |
